sundance film festival.

back from the adventure in park city. of the five years that i've lived in utah, i always somehow miss the event of the winter, the sundance film festival. it never helps when i always believe year after year, that the festival takes place in february. little did i realize its in january. every year. either way, i made up it up this time and all safe and sound too. mother nature finally decided to dump a load of snow. its been awhile with this mild winter and it caused quite the zoo on the roads through the canyon and from heber to park city. cars were rolling left and right. highway patrol was seen every mile. it was a mess. but thanks to the 4wheel drive we made it up there in no time.

mainstreet was buzzing like crazy. the hustle and bustle was kind of exciting. everyone was snug tight in their fur and boots. the snow never stopped falling. festive lights were streamed across the street from building to building. the place was hopping. zeke and i werent really prepared for the weather. my boots were sopping wet. you could say we froze most of the day and night but that never stopped our celebrity hunt which was a huge buzz kill. i knew it'd happen to me. of all people, with just my luck i knew i wouldnt spot a single soul. that's what i get for being such a teeny-bopper. of course other people i knew saw them all : taylor swift, dre, kate bosworth to name a few. it's all good, i say to myself... this happens every year. my star struck time will come. aside from that downfall, zekey zoo and i had a really fun time. it was a great getaway from the provo life for just a short weekend but it was well worth it. i love fun weekends, they really are a great pick-me-up for the busy week ahead!

fashion mags make my tail wag.

go-go ga-ga. i have a few collections that i love to collect. some are my vintage brooches, swimsuits (weird, i know) perfume bottles, and low and behold, my fashion magazine. mostly my harpers bazaar because that is the one issue i subscribed to every year. i have a few randoms such as instyle and vogue which are bought in the bookstore or grocery store check out line BUT i dont know why... these magazines make me happy. im a sucker for the vintage magazine covers of harpers bazaar and vogue and i hope one day, someone could look back at these and become a sucker for them as well as the classics. im just thankful these aren't from the 80's and 90's because those decades i dread.

i thought it would be fun to take pictures of the covers of my magazine collections and map em out. why i get such a thrill from this kind of stuff, i dont know. i just really really fancy pretty things. can't wait to gain more and more. i think if i ever have girls in the future, they'd really have a ball going through these.

p.s. minus lebron with giselle, i fancy that face that sticks out the most, leo. i must collect the leo ones...

the charleston, with a bit of swag

entertainment for today. my favorite dance, "the charleston" taken place at its finest with a touch of todays "swag." really, i couldn't love this clip anymore than i already do. it's brilliant. it deserves to be put to the test and memorized. if i had a time machine, i'd go back to the roaring twenties and be a flapper and get my charleston a-goin. you best believe it.

hopefully i'll get some photos in this weekend. my goal has yet to explode with the picture mode. i need to stay away from that instagram and stay true to the original camera. sundance film festival is taking place this weekend in park city. i'll be attending and im hoping to get a little star struck. i knew there was something good to come from january. snow is finally kicking it. i thought i'd get lucky and mother nature would pass the plow over and save it for next year. i guess she just can't help herself. lets pray this doesnt last till may, because from im told, "april showers bring may flowers" and im ready to wear my sundresses. half way through the week! more power to you all!

my favorite season : summer.

my favorite thing to do in the summer : bask in the sun and swim like a fish in the sea.

my only problem : it's currently january.

why this film perfectly sums up my mixed emotions : because it's currently january in utah, still has yet to snow, it's 50 degress and sunny which is almost easy enough for me to throw on a suit and swim with the fish, but it aint quite there yet.

heres to looking at you 2011. so long and farewell. 2011 was an interesting year. lets just say it was a little more laid back. i was very surprised with the lack of pictures i took. lets just say, i got a little out of the habit of being camera crazy. that minor habit is over and out (i'll never let that happen again.) all of my holidays were low key. valentines day was fun. zeke took charge and made it creative and thoughtful. lets see, easter was spent in salt lake and at a friends house. salt lake is always an adventure though. even my birthday was low key, i just didn't feel up to a party! was this a year to be lazy or what? holy cow. 4th of july, was spent in georgia so i couldn't complain. only, my beloved georgia thunderstorms put a damper on the famous lenox fireworks in buckhead. yikes. october, now i went all out with the decor. martha stewart helped with the costume and well, i think the halloween party was a confirmation on being done with provo parties. i just felt so OLD. but how could i when i am still so YOUNG? now thanksgiving was a blast. spent that holiday in utah. my parents came out here instead and we all piled in my sisters home with all of my nieces and nephew. ate a lot of food, played a lot of greed, went shopping spent time with extended family. it was really a much needed break. and christmas this year was a party i do have to say. it was quiet this year since it was the in-law year leaving me to be the only child home in georgia with the parents. but whats to complain about? i got to hang out with them and we really rocked and rolled. we traveled to wilmington, north carolina then headed south to my favorite city, charleston, south carolina. we did a week doing all of that and spent the second week at home watching non stop classic movies and the twilight zone. we had a bunch of friends and family visit every night for dinner and games. opened up presents christmas eve because my parents and i just flat out felt like it. there were no rules, no regulations, we did as we pleased and we really enjoyed ourselves. i sure miss my parents. they are a total blast. back to utah for new years eve and that was even more quiet than the whole entire year! i guess it worked out nicely though, since i did fly in new years eve night and everyone was kind of just whooped.

now here i am, living in the new year of 2012. i think this year is gonna be extra lucky because 1.) it aint the end of the world, sorry people. 2.) romney won the iowa caucus 3.) it still hasn't snowed yet 4.) im totally repairing myself : figure, hair, skin you name it. 5.) the end is near concerning school. 5.) anything could be better than last year.

highlights of this past year : of course hilton head island, south carolina. how could i leave this precious memory out. its the greatest holiday of the year. i look forward to this family trip more than christmas. say it aint so? i just said it, it is so. so there you have it. only 6 more months. any hoo im trying to start this year off right and its gonna take some motivation since this semester in school is going to be the busiest yet and i can't let that bring me down. so cheers to a new year. lets begin!

tonight i watched a grace kelly movie, "high society" which is a remake of the film "a philadelphia story" with my parents tonight. aside from a difference in cast and a film being in black and white to color, the main difference in both film was that "high society" had a cast filmed with talented voices, that of bing crosby, frank sinatra and of course louis armstrong. throughout the film, many great songs were sang and scenes were filled with the great jazz of mr. louis and his band. he's a character, that's for sure, but so full of talent.

i love love love jazz music. i love the sounds of louis armstrong and his trumpet. the original jazz music from new orleans is really one of my greatest interests. i wont go into detail but for real, one of my dream vacations is to visit new orleans, stay at a plantation (ideally the oak alley plantation) live off of my favorite dishes, cajun creole, walk the streets of the french quarter, take trips down the bayou, sneak a peek into the voodoo shops and last but not least dance the night away in the southern heat to live and local jazz bands. for real, that would be a dream. with all of that said, louis armstrong tonight got me back into my dream mode zone and here i find myself youtubing new orleans local bands. i've been finding some great ones. if you love this sort of music, let me know and i'll share with you some gems that i have found. they'll knock you off your rocker.

one in particular i came across was a new orleans local band called, "TBC Brass Band." how they caught my eye you ask? there were a ton of them, on the streets, and the youtube label was "Billy Jean." of course i clicked it : MJ for life. i wasnt surprised at all. they were killing it, and i was in hog heaven. boy oh boy do these boys have soul. so i start browsing and browsing and googled them and read information about them and found out that one of their saxophone players, brandon "bee" franklin, at age 22, was murdered on may 9, 2010. to express their grief, the whole community spent a full week, performing theirs, as well as brandons passion for music in the streets of new orleans. this video i came across was of them performing, "I'll Be Missing You" for brandons memorial.

For one, I was blown away with how many people in the community knew how to play a brass instrument. Then again, it's new orleans and thats why the people there are so unbelievably awesome because their culture is so deep in the talent and passion of music. Overall, I was blown away a touched by the mass of these people. To me, this is proof that there really is more good in the world then bad. I just wanted to pass this video along and spread the word out there of this band. I can't get enough of them. I hope you love them as much as I do. And I hope this touches you as well. It's people like them that make the world go round. Let's make 2012 a year to reach out to others and think less of ourselves. And to possibly add a little more jazz in our lives.

ah-yeee! the best thing about living in atlanta is being so close to two of my favorite cities in the united states. that of, savannah georgia and my number one CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA. this city truly is the charm of the south. i get so excited every time i have a chance to visit this city. there really is nothing like it. and my gosh, pictures do not do this place justice. you really have to go and experience it for yourself to really get a taste of the old south. for now, i hope these pictures will do, for you.

okay, now it feels like christmas thanks to park citys manmade snow. yes, i said it, manmade. utah hasnt really hit the dead winter yet. it's kind of crazy. kind of nice, but it will kick us in the butt when we realize its still freezing in the month of may. late winter, i say. so my roommates and i + one boyfriend, not mine (zekey zoo had to get a root canal. rut-row) threw on some major snow gear and hit the slopes for some tubbage. it was wild and we had a blast. not to mention, we were getting pretty hot with all that stuff on.

december is always cut off a little short due to finals week in school and then heading home for the holidays. so we had very little time to do the tradition christmas activities in utah but i wouldn't want to be anywhere else then where im at now in georgia with my fam. the weather has been out of this world! mid 60's and tomorrow its scooting on up to mid 70's. a little rain here and there, more so a mist but the sun will be shining tomorrow and im pumped because we are taking a drive to my favorite place in the whole united states : charleston, south carolina. im ready to just dive right in to the charm of the south. wish you could come with so that you could fall in love with a place that i could go on and on and on about.

leo-mania: the rush of the great gatsby

earth to all readers. do you know what year we are heading into? ANOTHER LEO-MANIA YEAR. what's a leo-mania year you might ask? let me explain. as a child, i was very blessed to live through a time that was larger than life. larger than the fever of a bieber (who im not too crazy about, sorry.) im talking about a mania that fled the world with raw young talent. bone chilling talent and blond locks that make you buckle in the knees. im talking about the one and only, my "boyfriend" of 14 years, MR. LEONARDO DICAPRIO.

you don't even understand. titanic was my life. leo was my leading man. i was beyond obsessed. i got in fights with my girlfriends over who owned more magazine clippings of leo. they were vicious fights, but ones that i fought very hard for and always won. i had books and books of leo and his childhood. my childhood crush, clay m. even resembled the face of my leo. i studied the titanic, waited while the t.v. guide would scroll on my television screen for the history channel to present "the history of the R.M.S. Titanic." I would cry while watching VH1's Pop-up Video when Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" music video played. I knew the facts of the ship, the crew, the dates, the passengers. I knew the ways of making the movie, the behind the scenes. I knew it all. I breathed it. I even made my parents take me TWICE to the Titanic Exhibition Museum to see all of the artifacts. Please continue to judge me when I say, I took the magazine challenges of being a "true" titanic lover and jumped in a ice cold shower for 20 minutes to see what it was like to be hanging in the ocean as the ship went down... yeah you guys this was a serious illness i had. it was bad, real bad, like michael jackson bad. and i never looked back.

sadly, i wasn't allowed to be a part of the excitement in the theater when titanic was out due to rose' boob alerts... so my mom did everything she could to calm me down. she bought me old school titanic movies that never seemed to do the trick. we tried to find edited versions once the movie was out on VHS and finally she caved and I was able to eat up titanic in all it's glory. I now own the special collectors edition of DVD and i handle it with care.

a couple of years back I was able to go to a celine dion concert in salt lake city with a couple of friends and my two sisters. celine was another obsession to me, such a powerhouse she is. i was so antsy the whole show though, i was just waiting and waiting for that one song to give me the chills and bring me back to my childhood. but after the show was over and she said goodnight... there was no titanic performance to be heard of. i was livid. i wanted to scream. and then all of a sudden... the lights dimmed and i realized, celine hasn't even begun her anchor yet, how could i forget!? all of a sudden, in the midst of nowhere, jack dawsons face appears on the screen and candlelit chandeliers lower as the flutes of "my heart will go on" began to echo... and there they were, my tears, rolling down my face. and there she was, celine... in a white gown, just as in her music video, flowing in the wind and i was bawling. as andie anderson, "how to girl" says, "she reaches up, and she brings it back down. it's like the most powerful thing i've ever seen." and it was, it really was.

now that i have completely freaked you out of my weird childhood teeny-bop obsession that still seriously lives on today, i want to share some good news with you. im sure you have all already heard it but let me tell you something now. TITANIC is coming back, in theaters on April 6th to relive the magic of the ship of dreams, in 3D. the date of released is the date that the R.M.S. Titanic set sail and the year of 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the ship. now i can experience what i was never able to as a kid, to see this remarkable historical film in theater and relive the moments. i saw the trailer this past weekend in the theater and cried. it's so pathetic you guys. so pathetic. i really hope you're just as excited for this as i am. if not, please, do judge me because i too admit that i am so over the top but what can i say? im a passionate kind of gal.

with that said, i do believe my boyfriend, leo is going to relive his leo-mania in the year 2012 kicking it off with the movie that made up his road of stardom, titanic, and onto what i think is going to be the movie of the year, "THE GREAT GATSBY." holy moly me oh my I cannot wait for this. I have a feeling my second obsession is going to bloom anytime now with this flick. Im already stalking what there is on the internet of this brilliant remake. can i add that i am so excited they made my man leo's locks blonde again like jack dawsons? goo-goo gah gah. i am a sucker for the 1920's. if i had a time machine, i would take it back to the 20's. I love the style of this decade, i love the music and the dancing. life was a party during the roaring twenties and i wish i could have lived then to tell all. im gonna have to get into "the great gatsby" mode and begin the book and just dive into the hype of it all. not to mention leo has another movie coming out that is taken place in the old south (my kind of style, not to mention my very own home sweet home) with plantations galore. i have a feeling it might be a little intense of a movie but i know leo's gonna win all them oscars and im backing him up because he really is a man of talent. like i said, 2012 it's not the end of the world, it's round two for leo-mania. SHIZAM.

zekey zoo blew out twenty-seven candles.

this past weekend we celebrated the one and only, zekes birthday! zekey zoo is really a dream come true. he's the funniest kid in town, with the best pearly whites i know. he loves his hats galore and has the best voice for les miserables jam sessions which really are a crack up. though he claims he is the strict eater on the street and eats only fresh foods blah blah he surprisingly is a great snacker and junk food eater with me. we both kick ourselves for it but since the company with one another is great, we figure we're just having a feel good time. zekes a treasure to the world and i hope he knows how grand i think he is. happy birthday zekey zoo, may all of your birthday wishes come true.

just letting the blogger world know that i will be non-existent starting today till christmas break when i FINALLY jet back to the old south. my education in art has once again decided to take over my life and with two weeks left to produce more than i can handle. one of the projects is to paint TWENTY oscar de la renta runway watercolors. look above and that will be them in watercolor form. i have already begun and im kind of excited. im in my element with fashion and art combined, so though im stressed, i couldn't be having anymore fun. so if you don't hear from me in a couple of weeks, if you even read this, i apologize for my absence and just know that im working my hands to the bone. wish me luck.

mark your calendar, people of utah. last night was the first snowfall of the winter season. i always thought i was going to dread it, but it helped being at the christmas lighting of riverwoods with ice sculptures, gingerbread houses and JOHN SCHMIDT banging on the keys of his piano in the center of all the festivities. did i mention zekey zoo and i and a couple of my roomies hit up the twilight saga? so not my thing, but i secretly love to sit back and have a great laugh. we were laughing so hard throughout the whole thing. it was GREAT entertainment, so worth the money. school is winding down and thanksgiving is almost here! yahoo! can't wait to be surrounded by family with more food then i can even handle. have a great weekend!!!!!

happy gobble gobble day can't come any quicker! holy canoly! see the above? this delicious spread of thanksgiving delights was created by the one and only mrs. lilien and her spectacular styling house. she is my all time favorite lady with the greatest sense of taste for being fancy and fabulous. if you haven't seen her styling blog i dare you to dive in. you'll be sure to drown in the depths of her razzle dazzle-ness. im using the above as inspiration for decorating our early roommate thanksgiving feast this sunday. i can't wait.

this week has been nothing but deadlines and crunch time with the art side of life at school. ceramics class has been on panic mode for every student. the cut off date for projects is the 22nd and i myself am a turkey with my head cut off. i live, i breath, i eat school right now. with that said, the weekend ahead will be somewhat calm compared to this week but it will be nothing like the break ahead when i have no class to attend, no more clay to throw on the wheel and nothing but food at my plate. due to all of the above, i have taken no photos of my social life, zekey zoo has to be patient with my busy bee schedule and i come home around 9pm eat a late dinner and hit the sack. woe is me, woe is me. parents arrive a week from today and i'll be dancing with joy! can't wait to be surrounded by family and festivities.

jerusalem. oscar. color galore.

this is what i blog about during the weeks when my life constantly consists of learning the architecture and works of art in the middle east in my art history class and practicing watercolor clipart of the fashion muses of oscar de la renta for watermedia and dreaming of both jerusalem and wearing oscar's gowns. so while i dream, i blog and share with you because it ain't the weekend yet then i haven't done my usual dinner and a movie with the zeke-attack.

today in my art history class we had really great lectures on the architecture of a well known islamic building, "dome of the rock" located in jerusalem. i have always drooled over this building. always. i can't get over the color palette, the texture and colors in the rock and the intricate detail of pattern and design. really, overall this building just baffles me. i want to wear it, it's just that beautiful. it's funny too because in my watermedia class we are working on a project that is considered "portfolio worthy" and the subject matter is whatever our precious hearts desire, so of course i go to the fashion route. im taking my favorite fashion designer, oscar de la renta whom i previously posted about and taking individual photos of his runway collections from seasons past and present and turning them into watercolor sketches or what some call clipart. im really excited about these and the dresses i have been choosing have been some of my favorite gowns that i wish hung in my closet. instead they lay two dimensionally on my watercolor paper. either way, the color scheme of the gowns have coincidentally somewhat tied in with the color scheme of the "dome of the rock" and the "prayer hall door" at tsamchen gompa-kathmandu, nepal.

i came across this realization when i had posted these favorite images of mine on my pinterest and they were all layed out beautifully, one next to another and i thought to myself, "my oh my isn't that such a rich looking site." i kind of couldn't stop starring at it. that's kind of the artist in me. im sure whoever you are, reading this is thinking "i don't get what the big deal is." but what im saying is, i really just get a kick out of the most simplest things and to me, they are beautiful and exciting.

this is the main reason why i obsess over "anthropologie." This is what i figure :
The correct spelling of "anthropologie" is "anthropology." this, im sure you know. and the definition of "anthropology" is : the study of humankind, in particular. the comparative study of human societies and cultures and their development.
with that said, im sure you've swept through the store anthropologie yourself, and while drooling maybe have thought, "this looks a little african" or "oh this skirt looks peruvian." there has been so many encounters where i have seen a skirt that was made from fabric that is very well known in ghana, africa. on my trip to ghana the people raved over this certain fabric. it was rich and holy to them.

well let me tell you something: to me, i figure the clothes that anthropologie decides to sell in their store for whatever season, is inspired by a specific culture from around the world. they study the people, they study their architecture and where they are from and from there, they take that inspiration and show it off to the world in the form of textiles. therefore, the correct spelling of "anthropology" is defined by what you wear. literally. there you have it. i cracked the code. and this is why i love to combine fashion, travel and art all in one because all three elements look to each other for inspiration and a language of beauty.

so with that said, i look at the above and think, my gosh i would kill to design a line of clothing inspired by jerusalem and the buildings that stand so proudly on their sand. wish i were a designer. i can be, and i will be in spare time, but man do i wish i could make things come to life. i did back in the day when i had my mom who is an out of this world seamstress, but now i live far far away across the nation with no seamstress at all, but dreams of "what ifs." hope you see the beauty that i see in fashion and travel. it really makes me happy when i burry myself in this kind of stuff. it's what makes me one happy girl. now im going to burry myself in the pages of my new harpers bazaar magazine. lady beyonce' is on the cover and i am beyond thrilled.

p.s. the girl in the last picture in front of the "dome of the rock" is my gal pal lani. and she was so blessed to see the sites in person this past spring. and when this photo fell smack on my computer screen, i about died. so envious of her exploring. and isn't she quite the babe?

holy moly, me oh my. im dying to plan an adventure, just dying due to this cold weather that has now set foot in utah. buurrrrrr, i say. my teeth chatter in bed at night. our heater constantly kicks itself out of business leaving us roomies in the bitter freezing cold. all i dream of at night is kicking it classy in the Raleigh Hotel in Miami, Florida. like they say, it is "effortlessly chic and impossibly seductive." goodness, to swim in a pool with such a hollywood regency style, everything so glam and then dine under the twinkling lights in the heat right along the sea. yeah, i'd wish for that right now. and then skip to ma lu to all the nice vintage home decor stores and drool over my wants in a future home. wouldn't the be the dream? i can't wait to dream this tropical dream of mine tonight.... and then wake up to the cold and school. gahh...

birthdays, birthdays, birthdays galore to two precious girls whom i adore! marissa and becca, two babes for sure have graced us with their high energy, wittiness and good company once again. so glad to have these girls in my life. they are great friends with great advice, great support and assure you a good time. couldn't be any happier to be surrounded with their presence and grace. the boys can't even handle it either... this i know to be true. it was a grand time making our rounds through the canyons to park city and ending in the great salt lake for a fancy dinner and shopping with marissa and then to dine in a grove of lemons at la jolla followed by some homemade milk and cookies with friends who are close to the heart. happy birthday loveies. may another year treat you well.

halloween has come and gone. the month of tricks and treats was spooky and exciting. we had a few scares, watched the classic halloween movies, decorated the home with bats galore, let pandora play monster mash jams through the night and spent hours putting together our halloween costumes. my favorite month was spent wisely. the bride of frankenstein and her ghost and ghoulish friends danced the night away with the dead. well i danced solo with my roomies and friends. zekey zoo on the other hand, spent his night hiding in the bushes spooking the rest of our terrifying friends. he's a goof. hope you all had a spooky and safe halloween. until next year....

hey you guys... my favorite holiday has finally arrived in its prime. halloween weekend. are you as pumped and spooked out as i? i have yet to go to a haunted house, can you believe that? i can't. so tonight i shall embark in a terrifying journey. zeke-a-leak heard of a free haunted house down a couple of cities in the middle of no where put on by this old lady. sounds like a plan of murder to me... i might just sit that one out and pay up the bills for one i know i can exit out of with a life to live. pumpkins will once again be carved. zeke and i carved some a couple of weeks ago. we aint too smart because they rotted the other day. gotta start all ova. and come monday, i will turn into THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN and I cannot wait. my roommates and i have been very serious of our costumes this year. and we are going halloween traditional. a mummy, the bride, a witch, this aint no skanky holiday. dont even get me started about the girls in provo who flaunt their feminine assets. put some clothes on. it's gonna be a great hallows-eve. here's a little halloween song I grew up listening to as a kiddie.

thanks to our love nicolette, us four roommates, all in a little row headed on up to the stein eriksen lodge in park city, utah for a adventurous conference weekend. for a classy place, i must say we were a tad bit out of our element. when the four of us are together, we can get a little loopy and begin to forget what it's like to be classy women. instead we pick up the characteristics of a teenage boy.

for instance, she who will not be named is never known for "fluffing." while waiting for our lodge key in the lounge, she who will not be named and i were talking, very near to our stein eriksen greeter and we were getting a little hyper. right as the greeter was ready to escort us to our lodge, she who will not be named let out the loudest "fluff" in the entire world. she who will not be named, quickly pulled herself together, eyes real wide, mouth just gaping open in awe, starred at me in terror, fearful of looking around to see if anyone else realized she had let out a fluff. I nearly collapsed to the floor wheezing, just wheezing. for the life of me, i could not pull myself together. the other two girls went ahead with our greeter, not knowing what had happened while she who will not be named and i dragged ourselves along the long long ever so long walk through the lodges. still laughing. i never gained a breath of air. i just kept replaying the fluff in my head that had occurred at the stein erikson of all places. oh my gosh, it was killing me. i wanted to just hide in a ditch and laugh hysterically with out a care in the world, but she who will not be named and i felt that we had to try and keep ourselves as content as possible and be classy for our mr. stein erikson greeter man. it didn't happen. the three ahead were so confused why we couldn't stop laughing. finally, after what felt like an hour, we arrived to our lodge and being the last to enter, the greeter sarcastically asked me if everything was okay. lying I kept my head down in embarrassment and mumbled yes. he then replied, "yeah... are you sure about that." shocked by his sassiness, i looked up and very firmly said, " yeah im pretty sure everything is a-okay, thanks for your concern." closed the door and she who will not be named and i lost it again. you most likely wont think this is as funny as i do but it was a moment like this where i find myself really happy for my friends. weird how a "fluff" can do that to someone, but honestly, we were so caught up in our laughter that everything else around us was kind of pushed aside and i can't help but think to myself, "MAN are my girlfriends hysterical."

the lodge provided us robes. mine of course was too long due to my polly pocket height. nonetheless, we took it to extreme and niki was ever so kind to share her red lipstick to add to the hype of all things. we were really just out of control, laughing at every stupid thing that was said or done. being loud and obnoxious in the ja ja ja jacuzzi. constantly talking about how excited we were to devour the all you can eat brunch buffet the next day. we acted like children. let the children play i say, so we did. we couldn't have had a better time together.

this picture makes me laugh for a few reasons, actually only one : zekes caterpillar resting on the top of his lip. boy does a man love a good mustache. he really does take pride in his mario & luigi getup. i love it. he's a funny guy.

so far october has been a joy if you cut out the schooling at uvu. my roommates and i have been decorating the condo with spooky cobwebs, flying bats, and more to come. we're pretty excited for our murder mystery we'll be hosting on halloween. i can't wait for my halloween costume that miss martha stewart is guiding me through with her halloween handbook. im still trying to convince zeke to be frankenstein. i dont think he'll pull through, but thats okay. we've done nothing with our lives but rent 99 cent horror movies from blockbuster, and get stomach aches from an over load of apple cider and hot chocolate. pumpkin patches are to come within the next week and i think we're going to take on a great haunted house, or maybe even that haunted circus we've been hearing about.

you know what i really want to do that no one else does because they call me crazy? i want everyone to dress up like the old school classic ghost costume where you just cut holes for eyes in a white sheet and drape it over your body, then i want to go to a graveyard and play ghost in the graveyard wearing your ghost costume. or play hide and seek. AND EVERYONE WHO I SUGGEST THAT TOO LOOKS AT ME LIKE IM SOME SORT OF IDIOT. why does no one else think that sounds like a fun idea? its frustrating sometimes.

i remember when i was little, actually, i dont think i remember, i just hear the story so much from my parents that i feel as if i remember. but i was too young to remember the memories. anyways, i was told that as a family we were coming home from somewhere, and it was october and we drove pass a graveyard and my dad pulled the car over and asked my sisters if they could read the names on the gravestones. saying that they couldn't, my dad then dared them to get out of the car and walk up to the gravestone to get a real good look at it. well, they did and sure enough my parents took off in the car laughing, just laughing away with their two daughters wetting themselves in a graveyard, all alone wondering what kind of physcopaths are raising them. hearing the story, i dig it. because i love that kind of stuff. don't worry, my parents came back for them, but they wanted to give them a good scare and sure enough they did. i cant wait to make the whole month of october a fright fest for when i have kids. its gonna be one heck of a monster mash.

boy do i love halloween. sometimes more than christmas. dont shoot me for saying that.

there really isn't any more to say because i am so brain dead. i should be studying for a biology test but instead im on here and i really want to watch another episode of the city on netflix. that olivia palmero is a trip. wish her attitude was as nice as her style.

numba one thing i dread doing in life : getting ready for bed. the process is a killer and its the main reason why i have horrible sleeping habits. i simply put off sleep to avoid the steps of calling it a night. it's my number one hassle. stupid huh?

well now, it's not so much the case. you see, i here have inherited these fine goodies and good golly miss mollie, they work wonders. im seeing results and finally the steps to sleep are something to look forward to and i want to share them with you so you can find love for these products as well.

1. donna karan cashmere mist deodorant : nordstrom (i put this on even at night because it smells so fresh. i will never switch back to anything. i swear by this) 2. tea tree skin clearing toner : the body shop (my skin has never looked more fresh and alive) 3. c.o. bigelow rose salve : c.o. bigelow apothecaries 4. rapid wrinkle repair moisturizer : neutrogena (never too early to fix sun damage) 5. moroccan oil intense hydrating mask : beauty collection ( i use this every night before i go to bed if i plan on showering in the morning. you're supposed to rinse after leaving in for 5-10 minutes, and i do in the shower, but in this case, my hair is so damaged from straight across bangs, i sleep with the mask in and rinse in the morning. besides the smell is to die for)

gah. i love this song oh so much. elvis has so much soul. i will say though, at times i find myself laughing at his stiff body movements but i know he's just feeling the music. zekey zoo and i watched my all time favorite suspense movie, "the skeleton key."

this movie gets me every time for the following reasons :

1. kate hudson, america's golden girl

2. takes place in the south : new orleans, louisiana

3. it's filled with jazz bands & gumbo

4. haunted plantation home produced of two famous ones i plan to visit

* the felicity plantation & the oak alley plantation

5. the bayou

6. the eerie voodoo & witchcraft of the south.

i make sure to watch this movie every time i go home to georgia, and luckily it's always on a huge thunderstorm kind of day. at the end of the movie while the credits were rolling, this song of elvis' comes on every time and i just love it. keep the credits a-rolling. i fall in love every time. enjoy this jam on your monday afternoon.

once upon a time, my parents moved to england for a little less than a year and we sadly had to give our family cat, miss cali q. robbins away. i was devastated. i felt like i lost a loved one. my roommates made fun of my love for my cali girl, but she really was my friend. she'd sleep on the left lower end of my bed in high school every night. she'd follow me around during the day and i never minded her company. i bawled like a baby when i moved away to college because i didn't want to leave her or confuse her of my absence. she really is the love of my life.

when my parents told me the news of having to get rid of cali, i was crying to my roommates about it, and em and her boyfriend decided to surprise me a year ago with a new kitten of my own. i named her millie. but she wasn't declawed, and i wasn't home enough to give her the attention she needed. and to be quite honest, as lame as this sounds, i felt like i was cheating on my cali q. so we gave millie girl away to some friends and knew she'd be happier in a better home. i still can't believe my roommate did that. it kind of cracks me up that we had a cat for a couple of weeks.

i sure do miss my real kit cat though. i think of her often. i will say i am thankful that someone else is taking care of her and i wont be around for when she passes away. im not good with change AT ALL. and that would be a lot for me to swallow. i think i'd drop out of school with depression. so c.q. and i left off on a really good note and she's still my sister. i love my little lion cat.

are you drooling? i bet you are, if not, that's fine... i question your thoughts but it's okay. we all have our own opinions. if you ask mine, i will flat out say that i oo & awe at this green machine. everything about this set up, the lamps, the golden bamboo mirror, the gold brackets and black tassels. i've got to have it. so i will attempt to do so.

im taking a huge risk right now, and im pretty excited / nervous. I have had this DI dresser for about two years now, and i did a really crappy painting job, just to get the job. it was a pretty golden yellow, and you could see the paint dripping and i literally painted my drawers sealed shut.

well, its time to finally make an actual attempt on something nice, and this is my inspiration. with the help of my zekey zoo, we are slowly but surely getting the job done. i found the perfect kelly green paint. grabbed myself some great brackets and found some cheap-o sale anthro knobs, i mean cheap $2.00 cheap. i have this fabulous antique white lamp stand from an antique shop that i have been dying to put to use. all i need is a great golden bamboo mirror and a cheap beige lamp shade. im on the lookout, if you see anything, please feel free to let me know. i'd love that.

though i dont know these specific kiddies personally, this video warms my heart and reminds me of my kiddies who i spent hours upon hours with in ghana two years ago. we did this sort of thing 24/7. there was never enough dancing, never enough laughter, never enough fun. i love that dancing is a major part of the african culture. it was one of the ways i gained a large amount of happiness while hanging out with my kiddies. we just let ourselves go and became free. what i'd give to spend time with them right now.

monday night zekey squad and i did a little party crashing at our friends ward for their family home evening. we had to, they were offering free costa vida. now, i know, it aint no cafe rio and i will defend the rio till this day that nothing can compare. but when it's free, it's free.

the weather has been really nice lately. i can expect that falls arrival is in full speed ahead. the days still warm up to the mid 80's but the mornings and nights are chilly and crisp. the utah trees have yet to spruce up some festive colors but the season is definitely around the corner. school is an overload this week and im ready to throw in the towel. need not to worry, ohio state football will keep me somewhat calm if i continue to convince myself that this is a rebuilding season for the buckeyes, october isnt too far away, and haunted houses and halloween decorations are in preparation. sure do love this time of year.

for those of you who are unaware, i am very much so all about princess grace kelly. she is one of my most favorite people and i can never get enough of her. her style, her grace, her career, her royalty, all of it i just love. she has been one of my favorites since i can remember. no, yes i can remember.

growing up, my dad and i would watch alfred hitchcock films and grace kelly was his muse. two of my favorites of his, "rear window" and "to catch a thief" were mind blowing to me. grace was elegant as usual. and with my love of fashion, i couldn't get enough of her costumes designed by the most famous designer, edith head. just like hitchcock, edith used grace as a muse as well. did you know grace is one of ten woman who has changed fashion? im sure you did. either was, she has become my muse with fashion and style.

in my drawing II class we were asked to do a "take-home" assignment of anything we wanted to draw, so of course i chose the princess of monaco. i'd like to say im really pleased and excited with the outcome of my drawing. i don't normally do free hand drawing so this was a huge challenge for me and i really proved something to myself. plus, another check off the list of BFA portfolio to-dos!

dear heavens. holy moly, me oh my. this burberry coat is by far the apple of my eye. i've recently been addicted to a new reality show on bravo of the famous fashion stylist/designer rachel zoe called "the rachel zoe" project. im obsessed because i am living vicariously through her. she spends her time traveling to paris and who knows where to attend chanel shows, michael kors shows, any fashion show you name, mrs. zoe has an assigned seat on the front row with eyes bulging and mouth foaming because she is so goo-goo ga-ga for the delicious outfits strutting their stuff down the runway. if only i were her, or better yet her client.

i get a kick out of her, and im sure her husband roger does too when he see's his bills. she is wild. she goes on the shopping sprees for me since i can't go that hog wild for myself. her passion for fashion is beyond anything natural. i get a major kick out of it. for instance, she was in paris at a vintage boutique and found this vintage chanel dress suit, gasped, put it on and got extremely emotional. now i don't know if my reaction would go that far. maybe if it were an oscar de la renta, but i was more than entertained.

ironically. the next day i went shopping with my girl niki and we passed by this burberry trench coat with a fox and sheep fur collar. my jaw dropped. i slid into that thing as though i were made of money to purchase it and i starred at myself in the mirror and for the first time ever, i received my first rachel zoe emotional connection to an item of clothing. it was so stupid of me but i literally got the butterflies. i was so dang giddy with that $2,000 coat on that i couldnt stop spinning. niki was laughing the entire time. i didn't see what was so funny. though i had to part from the coat, i made sure to snap a shot and say that i once wore it and im sure i'll bite my tongue when i see kate moss sporting it on the streets of london. but man alive did i feel like a woman.

im not in much of a mood to type a whole lot on here. i am ever so sorry. so i'll just say a few words here. my cousins are the coolest kids i know. i love the time of year when i get to stay at their house for a good long weekend and babysit the snot out of them. we seriously have a party. we never stop moving, we're always looking for an adventure wether it be whipping out smoothies & daiquiris in the kitchen, creating haunted houses, dancing on chairs, murder in the dark, pool games, arcade games, you name it. i find myself laughing constantly with them. they are the greatest of buds.

blah. the days of summer are surely ticking away. fast. school starts in two weeks. i am a busy bee moving out of a dump and moving into a place that is finally comfortable enough to call home.

though summer is my favorite season of the year, towards the end, i also get pretty pumped for fall. fall in utah is really delightful and i kind of dig it. the golden leaves that fall like glitter and the crisp air really make for a great season. all of the above really add to the spookiness that i looked forward to for the whole month of october. people think im crazy for already asking them what they will be for halloween but this is the normal time on my calendar to start processing these important thoughts. im huge on dressing like something related to halloween. you've got to get the feel of the holiday, you know?

top of the list : the bride of frankenstein. im really trying hard to get zekey zoo to be frankie, but he insists on being dr. phil and i oprah. no thanks zeke squad.

im taking a little breather from the paintbrushes and canvas and im making my way to the sea & yes, disneyland. zekey zoo got us into walt's club 33 in the new orleans area of the park for a tasty little lunch. i can't wait to pound down loads of lobster & shrimp. i also am pretty curious as to what secrets are held in the park. i hear mr. disney was kind of a creepy guy. you know i really dig the suspense stuff.

the sea will become my friend and the sun will be kind to my skin if i really keep up with my 70 spf. with zeke around, i don't think that will be the issue. he is the SPF guru. really i couldn't be anymore pumped. i love road trips with zekey zoo. he's da besss. see you friends. im going to have fun in the sun now. buh-bye.

yaba daba doo. i have finally finished another painting. i started this painting in the winter/spring and put it aside and havent touched it since. a week ago i thought i needed to get this baby going. low and behold here she is. i think i love this painting. no, it's not an original. i have always had a thing for vintage travel & fashion posters. i will literally spend hours going through all of them on poster websites. the look of them gets me every time. last summer when i was in england with my parents, my dad bought me a vintage poster calender of landscapes. this devon painting above was in it for the month of january. i fell in love with the colors instantly and the technique that was used to paint. i kept imagining how beautiful this would look in oil on a massive canvas smack in the center of a wall. i knew i wouldn't be able to afford a painting like this so i decided to do it myself. thankfully, this time i pulled through and im really please to say it, but i love this devon.

not the best quality, i know but i love this photo. zekey zoo and i have been having the best of times with the utah storms. no, they ain't nothing like my georgia thunderstorms, i can't give them that credit. but a storm is a storm so we'll take what we're given. we venture off to the top of the mountains at sqaw peak, park the car, sit on the hood and watch the lightening from cities afar. it's like a free light show, so we dig it. yaba- daba doo.

i really truly miss my girl nicole huntsman. she really is super special to me. she's currently spending her summer like any other lucky girl in the empire state of mind, new york! i am so excited that she is able to experience her internship out there but i hate to say it, im a little angry at that state. im just very lonesome here without her by my side and i do think it's about time for her to come home to me!

i miss engulfing mounds and mounds of cafe rio and feeling really pretty 10 pounds later. i miss attempting to learn hip hop routines found on the internet and realizing we're really not that great. i miss blog stalking and picture collecting of our favorite things. i miss the fashion chit chat and the shopping sprees with my one and only. i miss our explosions of spirit fingers we dish back to each other - it's our way of high-fiving it. i miss her motherly way and her down to earth spirit. and i really really miss her advice. she is really wise, sometimes it blows my mind. all in all i love my nicolette and i cannot wait until she arrives to utah. i wish she were meeting me in the charm of the south, charleston or on the coast of the french riviera like we plan to in the future... but until then, our home in provo will do.

guess who is back! my whole mom's side of the family and i have just returned from the grand ol' island of south carolina that i constantly rave about : hilton head island. my roommates and friends constantly joke about my obsession of this island. they claim they know all the tiny facts of the island and the people who reside there that have become a part of my life. maybe i do talk too much of this place but i really do just love it to death.

our family took over the resort as usual, nothing new. this year, i think the cousins mostly favored the pools. we seem to go back and forth depending on the year when it comes to the pool or the beach. you'd think we'd choose the beach since that's the reason for our stay but how could you deny a horseshoe pool located next to pool bar jim with local reggae music being performed daily? you can't. besides we like to constantly stay cool and perfect our pool flips.

we've branched out from our original daquari's this year. normally we go for : strawberry, peach and pina colada (not i, coconut sadly makes me barf.) so bland, right? i promise though peach is such a treat. BUT THIS YEAR we've really found a liking for ... drum roll please....

our family takes credit for the orange lemon. we created it and jim did the rest. he mentioned that people saw us carrying them around everyday, asked what we were sipping on and had one themselves. we set trends.

any hoo. the trip was another great year. it's my favorite week of the year. i look forward to this week more than i look forward to christmas. that's pretty crazy, i know. so now you're thinking, "wow, hilton head island must be the place." well it is. and i invite you to the south and take a bite of life. really. enjoy the island through photos my friends.

im a pig. im a pig. im a pig. i dont know what has gotten into me. you guys... keep this between you and i and whoever else reads this pointless blog, but today was day FIVE of eating cafe rio. my roommates keep egging me on to proceed to day six, but out of embarrassment of now being recognized by the cafe rio staff and still no free meal shout out, i dont think i'll make it to the end of my race. my eating habits are pathetic. i never talk about food on here, but i hate to say it: I love to eat. and so do my friends. so we create a disastrous lifestyle and i just blame it on being in college. and soon, this shall end... like we all say, diet starts tomorrow. riggghhhht. hope you had some good grub this past memorial day with your celebration.

the thought of this photo being circa 2005 really puts me in the dumps. im in a tropic state of denial. provo town has been in the slumps the past week. it's been wet and chilly, high of 50's and we're moving on up to june and their aint a sun in sight. im starting to get a little bugged. one of the biggest fails of utah is their bipolar weather that has never rubbed me the right way. makes me just wanna get out because im getting gypped of my summer. i swear, everyone i know has made it to some tropical island within the past couple of weeks and i am somewhere still stranded in what i now believe is the armpit of the united states.... not really, im just bitter at the weather.

my cousin and her husband just got back from aruba. a couple of my girlfriends just got back from hawaii, my roommate just walked in from california and somehow i am still stuck on google maps in the french riviera hiding from my location of reality. blah. the only thing that keeps me hanging on is the countdown to my favorite destination on earth: hilton head island, south carolina. it's a big whoppin' 32 more days till im there. so until then, i'll take a breather and go through some old caribbean pictures when i was in high school. more to come soon.

hello all. how has your weekend been?

mine has been grand. spent friday lounging at a public pool with people of provo and brain storming all of my 4th of july ideas with friends. we took a scooter to a snow cone booth and ordered a short board of tangerine & tigers blood. followed by a cafe rio salad and a comedy in the theater with some five guys cajun fries to end the night. i've loved food a lot these past days...

today was full of lighten and thunder and the company of zeke squads family. i really can't complain about life right now. it's grand. hope yours is too!

everything about this picture of reese is perfect. this photo is a still from her new hit, "water for elephants." the zekester is taking me this weekend to go see this film and i couldn't be anymore thrilled. im sure you all are in the same sailboat as me. i've heard such great reviews about this and im holding out for mr. pattinson. im hoping this will be his "make it" film because i'd be so bummed for him to ruin this... p.s. i love christopher waltz, as an actor. he is incredible.

dont you think reese's look is naturally perfect? she makes me want short hair again and her platinum color is a reminder to go that bright for the spring and summer. can't wait to have that pop of brightness. i just love reese. she is one talented miss-thang.

p.s. im sitting in my bed right now watching "the twilight zone" because that's the sort of thing im into... and thunder is a-roaring. this to me, is rare for utah. i couldn't be happier.

this years easter turned into quite the adventure. i was on the go-go, go-go GO. i had to make an afternoon pit stop to the airport in salt lake to pick up my little niki girl so me, becca & chad decided to make a trip of it. we were blessed to see the mormon tabernacle choir give an easter concert in the old tabernacle for "music & the spoken word." sure do love that motab and the spirit they bring.

following the program we decided to explore temple square, visit some sister missionaries whom i'd hang with back in the day in provo, walk the ground of the conference centers roof, take a sunday drive to spot our favorite salt lake houses and explore the amazing architecture of the salt lake city capital building. i do say, they had their very own rendition of the grand staircase from the titanic. i do believe i played a little make-believe and saw mr. jack dawson wait for his lady by the clock. bah... how pathetic am i? really though, those were my thoughts exactly. teeny-bopper am i.

once nikki jetted back to the great salt lake we headed south to chads moms house where she fed us a delicious easter meal. we caught up on some zzzz's and went down memory lane with "you've got mail" flick and called it a wrap. i have always loved easter. i will say though, i sure did miss being at my home in georgia with the warm weather & humidity. i miss my moms lush backyard and her homemade lemonade, strawberry spinach salad and her key lime pies just to see my dad's face light up. it's okay though... i'll be heading on that midnight train to georgia come june. the countdown started 6 months ago. hope you all had a happy easter my little bunnies. may you remember the true meaning of this day. hope monday treats you well!

zekester test #1.

eek. the zeke mister is a huge fan of random get to know you games and quizzes. me... not so much if i am being challenge without a study session. zeke had much contemplation during the past week of questions he wanted to ask me over a test. trivia questions, all about him. he's so in love with himself...

so i accepted the challenge. after 30 minutes worth of jotting down the test i looked over to find that the test was about 30 question long. fill-in-the-blanks, multiple choice, and true or false. zeke wasn't screwing around that's for sure. i was excited for this challenge until he sarcastically spit out the words, "i will break up with you if you get below a 50%."

okay zeke. he made me take the quiz in front of him. TIMED. the quiz was timed. if you know me, you know i don't do well with quizzes or tests, let alone if im being timed. so i was a little nervous. well im grateful that each question was a bloody trick question. for instance :

i'm pretty at one point in time zeke squad has mentioned he liked ALL OF THOSE PLACES. and what on earth does, "just pick best answer" mean?
long story short i circled B: Tahiti. Apparently, I was wrong. I still dont know what the correct answer is because I was stubborn enough to drown out the sound of his correct answers.

I got 24 out of 41 correct. How embarrassing... we've been dating for almost 4 months now. good news is, if you do the math, i barely got over 50%. so we're still dating...

finals week in my painting classes are quite the trip. holy cow. i have never been this hung up on school. i love studying art though, and actually being able to do hands on projects with great results. rather than filling in circles on a scantron, i get to take something special home and hang it on my wall. the end of my painting class has been very fulfilling and rewarding, i must say. these 3 paintings are my final 3 of the class and have been my best work in the class so far, or at least the most fun to work on.

i typically focus on doing portraits, such as the paintings you've seen in previous posts: paint the YOUMAN way.
but with this painting class, we were dishing out a painting a week for a grade. im a slow and particular painter so a portrait takes me about 2-3 months... so i decided to take the more graphic design/decorative route in painting. lets just say, i experimented and im really proud of my results.

PAINTINGS:
1. for some odd reason, i have a thing for butterflies. it's weird i know. but in interior design, i always see shadow boxes of butterflies hung on a wall of pictures or a darling duvet cover with them fluttering all around. i recently bought an skirt from anthro with golden butterflies on it... i can't get enough. so i decided to do a study on butterflies and that i did. if you haven't noticed by now, this painting is of the butterfly icon on the left hand side of my blog. look familiar? the picture is a random google image i found and fell in love with the designs of the insects wings. enough said, i love butterflies.

2. does this look familiar? anthro rug remember way back when i decided to spend my summer in england embroidering a rug from anthro? remember when i thought it was possible to embroider fabric large enough to cover a canvas? remember when i only got this far and never finished? well... i decided to take on the same rug, but this time with oil paint rather than thread. and im very pleased to say the least.

3. this is nothing special but i've always wanted to do an abstract with really thick painterly brush strokes and the colors i used turned out to look like an abstract of the anthropologie rug.

all in all i have one more extra credit project that i am currently working on. i'll post within the next couple of days or so. other than that... onto the other million art projects that consume my life. to the students out there: happy studying

my good texan friend chad here has decided that him and i are gonna give a generous break for donny & marie osmond. even if they don't want the break, we're gonna give them the boot. or maybe we'll just co-host with regis and kelly. we have so many options we're really unsure which route we'd like to take. this thought came about after having a random jam session of boyz II men and maria carey. which is also fitting for our weekend of 90's.

friday night we jumped up and down for the 90's in a small clubhouse of the lanai. saturday night was followed by a personal invite from sugar ray to hear the band sing in zekey zoo's neighborhood, the riverwoods. not even kidding, the concert was free. not a big deal. so sunday, chad and i thought we'd take it easy and simmer down the weekend with an emotional jam, which afterwards we realized, we've both found our future careers.

miss olivia, darling, i do believe you are marvelous. simply, marvelous. here's the deal my friends. not that you care, but i'd like to say, the older i get, the more i am finding myself in an agreement with my hairstylist, renee' from home when she decides a trim equals 2 inches off. i still know the feeling of dreading a renee' trim, and wanting to cry because if this 2 inch trim keeps up, my hair will never grow and be long. but according to renee' it had to be done because my hair did not look so clean and healthy.

now im at that point where i would like my hair to be beautiful, glowing, and fresh. even if that means i can't have locks of love. im fully convinced that everyone has a length that suits them best and even if it's not what they long for, everyone else is thinking the world of their hair because it's all of the above: BEAUTIFUL, GLOWING, and FRESH.
you get what im saying? are we connecting? do i make any sense? my point is, look at darling olivia. look how thick and full her hair looks, the blunt cut, the length, the absence of layers... the whole shebang is really working because my gosh it's healthy.

low and behold, i just want healthy hair. once the bangs grow to the collarbone, i shall be the blonde version of olivia.

yaba daba doo. zeke attack and i hit the roads my little jacks, for a trip to california.

spring break toasted me a treat to golden rays & an azure sky. 80 degree weather riding bikes to and fro beach to beach. eating whatever lands in our mouths and regretting it the morning after. visiting friends and meeting new. we had a really grand ol' time.

zeke squad is a funny one. 10 hour car ride with the boy is a field day. all we did was hoot and holler. good thing he's entertaining or we'd both be busted for not making road trip mixes and jams like we said we would. wish you guys could meet zekey zoo. he's a goof. a good one. hope you all had a great week, and where ever you may be, may the weather be so ever kind to you...

my friend niki posted this little vimeo on her blog and i just happened to view it tonight. just like nik, im kind of digging these "live the language" clips. other "live the language" clips take place in beijing, barcelona, and london. niki was definitely feeling the london and paris clips because she did a study abroad to those two destinations this past summer. what i would give to have "live the language" clip in africa.

why i love these clips? because the crispness of the film really amazes me. ma & pa : make notes, i great great HD to the max video camera.

my sister jenna and her husband jake just welcomed their second daughter into the world today! im proud to say im an aunt of four now! we sure just adore you annie jane, and so does your older sister goldie jean! congrats jake & jenna!
